The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering Texas A&M Student Chapter was founded in 2020 to create an organization where people interested in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology field could come together. Since then, ISPE TAMU Student Chapter has worked diligently to bring together a diverse group of students, united in our interests, aspirations, and studies. Members become part of the organization while participating in activities that help grow personally and professionally.  

Anna Khan-
President

Anna is a junior biomedical engineering major from Katy, Texas. She likes to bake, hike, and listen to podcasts in her free time. After graduation, she plans to work in the pharmaceutical or medical diagnostics industry in regulatory affairs or quality engineering.

Zarnain Siddique - Vice President

Zarnain is a Master’s student in Biotechnology with concentrations in Biotechnology and Business. She is from Karachi, Pakistan and has interests in commercialization, business management, and practical applications within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. She is a dedicated bookworm, a foodie who loves to try new places, and loves to watch Friends.

Isabella Thomas - External Relations Coordinator

Isabella is a junior pursuing a bachelor's in chemical engineering from Dallas, Texas. She completed a summer internship at the BASF Freeport site where she worked alongside maintenance and process engineers and is also currently doing research in Dr. Alge's biomaterials lab. In her free time, she enjoys playing her guitar, solving Rubik's cubes, and drawing.

Ananya Joshi - Marketing Coordinator

Ananya is a junior Electronic Systems Engineering Technology major from Sugarland, TX. She is interested in R&D and Product Development. Her hobbies include painting, reading, and spending time with her pet parakeet Berry.

Dr. Victor Ugaz - Advisor

Dr. Ugaz is the Texas A&M chemical engineering department head and is from Kerrville, Texas. Dr. Ugaz received his Ph.D. at Northwestern University in chemical engineering. He has been a professor at Texas A&M since January 2003, and is currently the chair for the Master of Biotechnology Program. His research interests include: fast and inexpensive diagnosis of infection and disease, sensitive screening for early detection of cancer, biodegradable sponges for easy cleanup of oil spills, and much more!

Elizabeth Reed - Treasurer

Elizabeth is a freshman Biology major with plans to pursue a PhD in biochemistry. She aims to work in the pharmaceutical industry in an R&D position. She is from Houston, TX and enjoys swimming, dancing, and reading.

Jenna Borucki - Internal Affairs Coordinator

Jenna is a junior Chemical Engineering major and Biomedical Engineering minor from Waco, Texas. In her free time, she enjoys baking, playing piano, and crocheting. She has an interest in researching and developing drug delivery systems. After graduation, Jenna plans to pursue a Master's in Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering.

Saleem Joubran - Secretary

Saleem is a junior Electrical Engineering major from Houston, Texas. His hobbies include playing soccer, and volleyball, watching Christopher Nolan movies, and reading books. After graduation, he plans to go into the industry working in pharmaceutical manufacturing with a focus on automation engineering.
